Today’s busy schedule was filled with new friends and lots of fun. The morning kicked off with a call from Robert D. Smith, manager to Andy Andrews. We discussed the possibility of me optioning Andy’s book The Noticer for the screen. The book fits perfectly into the direction I’m headed with productions that focus on encouraging people forward in life. The story follows Jones through numerous encounters that impact each individual and helps the audience to understand how easy it is to change perspective and take action – Greatly improving their situation in hard times.
While the fit seems perfect between companies, there are a lot of things needing to be discussed before any deal can be closed. As part of my prep, I contacted the managers of actors Dean Jones and Kirk Cameron in hopes of learning about their level of interest in seeing the story come to screen. Both managers encouraged me to the next step.
I met Dean years ago during the development phase of another project and admired his lifestyle and passion for telling great stories that impact the heart. I met Kirk a couple times, the last being at the Beverly Hills Hotel during an award ceremony. His passion for touching people’s lives was more than evident in our conversation. If all goes well, Dean would play the part of Jones and Kirk the part of Andy.
With everything fitting well, I headed to lunch with Chris Ross, CEO of MyCookingShow.TV to discuss a joint venture for the production of episodes. Since Chris is also a computer wiz and consultant (Microsoft is one of his clients – yep, he’s a wiz), he asked me why my communication was fragmented between, Twitter, Facebook, my blog, etc. He recommended I blog more often, change my format and pass some of the key information on to my multiple audiences through multiple channels.
So, I’m writing this entry and will work on updating my blog to something more functional over the next couple months. Thanks Chris. BTW, why is it that the shoemaker’s kids always go without shoes?
